This high-elevation office building presented a special challenge in achieving the passive house standard due not only to the site’s harsh climate but also its remote location. Dylan Lamar supported an integrated project delivery process fostering highly collaborative problem-solving and ultimately achieved the world’s most stringent airtightness standard with the prefabricated building envelope. The SIP construction and unique details such as recessed housings for exterior operable sunshades presented unusual challenges which the team successfully navigated through frequent, open lines of communication. The building tested out as one of the tightest commercial buildings ever built.
